Hypnotic, defiant, and wildly unpredictable, DEZI’s moody brand of alt-pop comes from embracing every aspect of her singular identity. “My whole life is about riding the in-between,” says the New York City-based singer/songwriter/producer. “I’m half-Cuban, I’m bisexual, I’m very feminine but also very masculine. For a long time I felt like I had to choose which parts of myself to show, but now I’ve stopped trying to be some sort of perfect package.” Building on the breakout success of her hit single “Chaos Mode,” DEZI’s latest body of work is the sound of an artist pushing against all confines, and ultimately creating a thrilling new space within the pop world.
